Bachelor of Human Services Student | Aspiring Housing and Homelessness Practitioner | Interested in Supporting Single-Parent Families
About Me
I am a Human Services student at Griffith University with a strong interest in housing and homelessness. Through my studies, I have become more aware of how structural disadvantage shapes access to housing and support, which has strengthened my commitment to human rights and social justice.
Growing up in a single-parent household and experiencing rental instability have given me a grounded understanding of housing insecurity and shaped how I hope to work with others. This perspective has drawn me to strengths-based, person-centred approaches that focus on people’s strengths rather than defining them by their circumstances.
I have maintained strong academic performance throughout my degree and received the Griffith Award for Academic Excellence in both years of study. Alongside university, I have worked in hospitality for four years, including in a senior role. This experience has strengthened my communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, as well as my ability to engage respectfully with diverse communities in fast-paced environments.
As an emerging professional, I am seeking opportunities in housing and homelessness services where I can continue to build my skills and contribute to improving access to safe, stable housing.
